Human Resource Development (HRD) Graduate Certificate (12 credit hours)

Earning the Human Resource Development (HRD) Graduate Certificate will provide you with strong preparation in the foundations of HRD, include related skill development. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics anticipates HRD-related job growth to be above 20% between 2010 and 2020.

This certificate will prepare you for specialized professional and managerial positions such as:

  • Managers and supervisors of workplace learning/training/HRDfunctions
  • Government employees involved in workforce/career related areas
  • Non-profit HR/HRD training professionals
  • Consulting firm employees
  • Training professionals/specialists
  • Managers and executives interested in expanding knowledge regarding employee development

Highlights of the HRD Certificate

  • Faculty blend up-to-date theory with realistic, applied practice in leadership and human resource development for today’s workplace.
  • You can complete the HRD Certificate either as a full-time student or as a part-time student.
  • All courses taken for the HRD Certificate can apply towards the MS in Technology.
  • To suit your learning style and schedule, you can take courses online, in hybrid format, or face-to-face.

Courses

The HRD Certificate curriculum includes three required courses and one elective course.

Applying for admission

Apply for admission to the Human Resource Development Certificate if you:

  • Have completed or will soon complete a bachelor's degree from an accredited technology, engineering, or related program.
  • Obtained an undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).

To apply, submit the following items:

  • The IUPUI Graduate Admissions Application found here, including the Supplemental Information sheet found here
  • A statement or your purpose and goals
  • Evidence of an undergraduate degree with at least a 2.75 GPA
  • One letter of recommendation
